Changes Coming to the Blog
September 24, 2020
Life has thrown a few curveballs lately — between a job change and the ongoing realities of COVID-19, I've had to step back and rethink how I approach Books and Blends. This space has always been a creative outlet for me, and I want to keep it that way without burning out.
I'm not disappearing, but the posting rhythm is going to shift. You might see fewer reviews for a while, or posts that feel a little different in tone and focus. I'm giving myself permission to let the blog breathe while I figure out what feels sustainable.
Thank you to everyone who has stuck around, sent kind messages, or shared a book recommendation. Knowing there are people out there who enjoy what I do here means more than I can say. I'll still be around on Instagram and Twitter in the meantime.
Here's to rolling with the changes. 🍷
For longtime followers of Books and Blends, you know this space has always been a mix of honest book reviews and casual wine recommendations. That balance isn't going anywhere, even as the posting schedule shifts. Some weeks might bring a deep dive into a contemporary romance or a fantasy series, while others might feature a quick note on a bottle worth trying. The goal remains the same: sharing what I genuinely love reading and drinking, without the pressure of a rigid calendar. If anything, this slower rhythm means each post gets more thought and care, and that feels like a win for everyone.
Reading has always been my anchor, and that won't change. Whether it's a angsty new adult romance, a slow-burn historical, or a gripping fantasy, I'm still turning pages every chance I get. The reviews might come at a more relaxed pace, but they'll still reflect the same voice and honesty you've come to expect. I'll also keep sharing weekly reading updates and wrap-ups, because those casual check-ins are some of my favorite posts to write. If you're following along on Goodreads or social media, you'll still find me talking books between blog updates.
Wine and books just belong together, and that pairing remains central here. You can expect continued recommendations that match a certain mood or genre, because finding the right blend for a reading session is part of the fun. I might also share a few lifestyle touches along the way, since this blog has always been a reflection of real life, not just a review archive. Thank you for sticking with me through the quieter seasons. Your comments and messages make this space what it is, and I'm grateful for every reader who continues to stop by, whether weekly or once in a while.
