My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

When I show up on the doorstep of Blue Stone Ranch, I’m run-down and rockin’ my last pair of underwear. I’m hoping for a savior, but instead, I find him.
My opinion of Jack is marred by a dismal first impression, but his opinion of me is tainted even before I arrive. He’s heard I’m a spoiled princess there to take advantage of his goodwill. To him, I’m more trouble than I’m worth.
Our button-pushing banter should get under my skin. His arrogance should be a major turn-off. Problem is, devils are known to offer their own form of temptation.
Every one of his steely glares sends a shiver down my spine.
Every steamy encounter leaves me reeling.
Sure, it could be the Texas heat messing with my head, but there’s no way I’ll survive the summer without silencing him with a kiss and wrestling him out of those Wranglers.
Who knows…going to bed with the devil might just be the salvation I’ve been looking for all along.

My Thoughts

This was an enemies to lovers book and I really enjoyed it. This is the second book that I have read from R.S. Grey and I’m kicking myself for not reading more from her sooner! Her humor is something that I have fallen in love with and will never get sick of reading. Being a Texan, this setting was right up my alley!

Meredith left in the middle of the night from her husband Andrew. He was manipulative and I hated him. What I loved the most about her was that she real and she was fighting for what she wanted. She didn’t want to be held down and be manipulated by her husband anymore.

“He was holding my head under water, and I didn’t drown, didn’t break. I grew gills.”

Jake was a tough cookie! He kept everyone at arm’s length. He was very broody and I wanted to shake him at times. He was hiding a good guy deep down below.

There was so much chemistry between these two. Even while they were hating each other and fighting every chance they got, you felt it. I was having some serious “just kiss already” vibes. They were perfect for each other and everybody could see it but them.

While I liked Meredith and Jake, my favorite character from this book was not even the main characters, it was grandma Edith! She was a damn hoot and I could never predict was going to come out of her mouth next!

I really enjoyed this and I highly recommend it, especially if you like enemies to lovers romance. Y’all should definitely pick it up when it comes out!
