My Rating: 💜💜💜💜
Moving to River’s Edge was supposed to be a fresh start.
Away from chaos.
Away from bad influences and worse relationships.
All I wanted was to give my little brother more of a chance than I ever had.
It should’ve been simple.
I didn’t count on my transgressions following me.
And I definitely didn’t count on meeting Dare.
Tall, tortured, and tattooed.
A Lost Boy through and through.
Falling for someone like him was asking for heartache.
But I was a sucker for punishment.
I had a routine.
Eat, work, sleep, repeat, only ever doing the bare minimum to keep up appearances.
I kept my circle small and my guard high.
I spent years making sure I didn’t repeat the mistakes of my past, forming an impenetrable layer of ice around my heart.
Then Logan showed up in my town, in my tattoo shop, testing my patience along with my self-control.
She was fire and I was ice.
I should’ve stayed away.
But I had been cold for far too long.
I really enjoyed this one! Which is shocking because I didn’t end up finishing the first in this series. However, this book kept me glued to my kindle while I was reading. I couldn’t get enough of Lo and Dare!
Lo was strong and fierce! She had to be because she wasn’t just taking care of herself, she was trying to do the best for her brother Jesse. The best she could do in the situation she was in. Even when things were starting to get impossible she never just up and left to go back to her old life. Dare was broody and was not a people person in the slightest! I wanted to hug him when we learned his backstory.
I loved these two together! It was a great mix of sexy, angst, and a beautiful relationship. From the moment that these two meet sparks were flying. They both have things in their past that makes them keep a wall up and both are harboring some guilt about actions they have done. They learn to open up to each other and let someone in.
These two were sweet at times and that’s great, but can we talk about the sexual chemistry between these two?! LAWD!!! The scenes between these two were hot as hell. Charleigh Rose can write a sex scene! Keep a paper fan close by while reading this one.
I highly recommend this one and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for new books by Charleigh Rose!
