Second Chance Cowboy
My Rating: 💜💜💜💜
Once a cowboy, always a cowboy.
Ten years ago, Jack Everett left his family’s ranch without a backward glance. Now, what was supposed to be a quick trip home for his father’s funeral has suddenly become more complicated. The ranch Jack can handle—he might be a lawyer, but he still remembers how to work with his hands. But turning around the failing vineyard he’s also inherited? That requires working with the one woman he never expected to see again.
Ava Ellis broke her own heart the night she let Jack go. She was young and scared—and secretly pregnant with Jack’s baby. Now that he’s back and asking for her help, Ava sees her opportunity to right the wrongs of the past. But how will he feel about the son he’s never known? Could this be their second chance—or their final heartbreak?

I haven’t read a cowboy romance in a while, and this was a good book to bring me back. This is a second chance romance for Jack and Ava who had a very bad breakup as teens. Both walked away with broken hearts, but Ava also had a son by Jack that she was raising without his knowledge.
The relationship between Jack and Ava became something beautiful. While they did have the history they needed to work though, their chemistry was scorching!
As these two work together to get the Vineyard back up to running well they were going through the motions of all the time lost between them and making decisions about their son. Reading about them rebuilding their relationship was giving me all the feels.
Jack and Ava weren’t the only good characters here. The secondary characters were amazing. I loved Jack’s brothers and thought they were hilarious and I can’t wait to read more about them.
Now I couldn’t give it 5 stars because of Ava’s family and Jack’s internal struggle. Ava’s family was very irritating, well her dad was. This guy refused to see reason about Jack and it was making me grind my teeth. Everyone is not their parents, so you can’t blame them for their mistakes. I also wish that Jack would have come to terms with this earlier in the book. He spent quite a bit of time brooding on that.
All in all, I would recommend it if you are a fan of second chance romance with sexy cowboys. I’m looking forward to the others in this series!
