2017 is almost over and there are still so many books that I want to read but I know that I won’t have the time to do so. Especially with holiday parties and spending time with family, my reading in December had taken a dive.
Here are some of the top books that I hate I won’t get to read this year.
→ Renegades by Marissa Meyer – I bought the hardback of this book a couple weeks ago and still haven’t gotten around to reading it. I haven’t read a book with the superhero aspect before and I’ve read some pretty good reviews for it. This is going to be one of the first books I crack open in 2018!
→ The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas – So I know that I’m like the last person in the book community who hasn’t read this book. Don’t judge me. I have been meaning to get around to reading it! Since some school districts here in Texas are trying to have it banned, I figured now is a better time than ever to read this.
→ Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore – This was recommended to me by a friend a couple of months ago and I still haven’t picked it up. Every time I read the synopsis I keep asking myself why I haven’t?!
→ The Last Black Unicorn by Tiffany Haddish – Girls Trip was one the funniest movies that I’ve seen this year and Tiffany made the movie! So when I saw that she was coming out with a book, I knew that I wanted to read it. This is going to be another one of those books that I start next year, but I know I want to listen to the audiobook version!
→ Dear Martin by Nic Stone – This goes hand in hand with The Hate U Give. I know this will also really get to me as well.
→ Fallen Heir by Erin Watt – I have had this book on my bookshelf since it came out. I kept meaning to start reading this but never found the time to just pick it up. And lord knows I been craving a book in Easton Royal’s head. I haven’t read the greatest reviews about it, but this is one of my favorite series so I’m still going to give it a read.
And that’s all the books I wish I could’ve gotten around to reading before 2017 ended. Not to worry though because they will the first ones I read in 2018.
