He told me to ‘settle, girl.’
He asked if ‘something was wrong with me?’
He said I was an ‘easy target.’
That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks.
I labeled him an *sshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.

He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother’s fraternity brother.

Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.

I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?

My Views:

This was my third Tijan book this year and I think it will be my last. I’ve really tried to get into her books and all the hype surrounding it but I just can’t.

In this book, we have Summer who is off to college and she plans on being with her stepbrother Kevin who is already there. She ends up seeing him with another girl while also meeting Caden who is Kevin’s fraternity brother.

From the first chapter, I could tell that Kevin was a going to turn out to be an asshole. I really don’t see why she was so into him for so long! She spent so much time pining over him.

Summer was an okay character for me, she came off a little childlike and I didn’t really get her humor. Caden was not your typical frat boy. He had a lot of background issues going on that gave him character and likeability.

The relationship between Summer and Caden happened at a snail pace. It seems to me that there wasn’t any chemistry between them. Like they got together out of convenience, Summer couldn’t have Kevin and Caden finally had a girl be different to him.

My favorite character out of the whole book was Colt who wasn’t even a main character. Colt stole the book for me!

I went back and forth on giving this a 2 or 3 stars, but I couldn’t to that to Colt.

Overall it didn’t  wow me and it seemed like just another college romance.
